A Piece of History
In the pre-television days when David Bristow, who built the Green House, was young he dreamed of becoming an architect and would design houses on rainy days (Monopoly just wasn’t his game). For various reasons he became a photo journalist and environmental scientist instead, but his interest in architecture never waned.
On moving from Johannesburg to Cape Town in the mid-1980s he began buying humble old houses and renovating them. All the while he was looking for a place to build something special. The opportunity finally came in 2005 when, on a chance suggestion, he visited Zeekoevlei one Sunday in October. Like most other Capetonians, he’d heard of it but did not actually know where it was.
This Masterpiece will suite someone who dares to be different, who has a particular affinity to all things natural and authentic. It’s a 3 bedroom, triple story place for you to make your own. The price is set at R1,900 000.
